Identity and Connection

Adoptees in Mind connects you to other adoptees and community support, uplifting in exploration of self and cultural identity. We're committed to helping you explore your identity, connect with others, and find the resources you need on your journey.

Our inspiration

Adoptees in Mind was inspired by a desire to build an adoptee led community where adoptees can share experiences, and heal through storytelling and cultural learning. By creating an adoptee lens programming, presentations, collaborations, and cultural experiences for your individual or group needs, we aim to provide tools that lead to empowerment, healing, and a deeper understanding of self and the intersectionality of an adoptee.

Who we serve

We aim to reach adoptees, members of the adoption triad, and professionals involved in the adoption experience, such as educators, social workers, and therapists.

Our guiding values

Our core values include a commitment to being curious, active in our own healing, rebuilding narratives, understanding what happened, reconciliation, and recognizing that healing is a continuum. We emphasize social support, resilience, self-compassion, and viewing healing as a journey inward and outward towards recovery.

"Adoptees in Mind has helped me connect with others and feel more understood on my adoption journey."
